Well Folks, It's been too long. It's almost that time of year again. it's almost time When Hell Freezes Over....

I know its been over a year since the last W.H.F.O. OP but the Civil War isn't over yet, It's just beginning.
After the government was pushed back by The C.A.L. (Coalition for American Liberties) C.A.L. armies popped up all over the east coast. The War is spilling over into neighboring states, but where will the next attack take place?

Find out in the next few weeks as we release more Intel on the growing tension between what's left of the U.S. Government, and The C.A.L.

See good memories and stories were one of the things i was hoping people would take from the last WHFO. It makes me happy that you guys had such a good time on and off the field.

WHFO2 will NOT be held at TRP. I love the field the there, however Ryan and i could not come to an agreement the last time so i won't be holding any more events there until then.

now i might know much about cooking with gases but i know it takes a specal talent to set a liquid on fire!

quick question; does anyone have a car charger/adapter. I would bring my smartcharger and SPARE car battery so everyone could charge thier stuff, that is if we cannot at location.

yeah, that or maybe you get mad that its not turning on so you turn it up full blast, then put a match to it.

i remember my mom called me and asked if everything was alright, and as soon as i said "yeah, we're making hot choco-" it burst into flames and as i held back my laughter i tried to make her not worry so i just continued like "yeah everythings fine, we're gonna sit by the fire..." while in the mean time Koulivov is hoping up and down going "****! ****! ****!" trying to get near the hot plate thing without burning his hand from the 3.5ft flame engulfing our hot cocoa, then finally flicks the dial all the way off.

good times

that was fun... I should have turned the propain off, but the stupid nob wouldn't turn. And I couldn't spend a whole lot of time trying considering the flame... Still fun, even though it could have blown up.

Sholef
11-18-2008, 05:28 PM
How strict are the uniform requirements? For example if I were to sign up for tan team, would I be able to wear DCU pants and a black jacket? Or do the uniform tops and bottoms have to match?

Airsofter From Hell
11-18-2008, 06:22 PM
Muppet, were handling the mag issues on a case by case basis. We will get back to you.

Sholef, russian, we're deciding about mixing black/green, and tan/green. You SHOULD be able to use black as one of bdu options pants/blouse, as long as you use tan/green as your other color. So if you're going with a black blouse it has to be tan or green bottoms, and vice versa. I'll pm you with a definite answer.

Delta, would you ask Jon Liu where he spends his money? The money is going to pay for the things like props, t shirts, field fee's etc. These things aren't free.

**ALSO** PM me even if youve posted up that you plan on coming so i have a saved list that i can update!

hey im 16 and i was wondering if theres an age requirement? My friends all would like to go. me plus probably 5. Also, do we bring our own food and everything i just need like all the details no matter how miniscule so i can convince my mom to let me go...

Airsofter From Hell
11-20-2008, 08:23 AM
If you'd like i can give you my cell and you can have her call me. The only age restriction is the one battlefield has, and I'm not sure what it is.

I'm a firm believer in that if you can rough it like the rest of us i don't care how old you are as long as you follow the rules, and carry your self in a respectable manner.

Colton is one of the youngest members i believe and he acts like one of the oldest. I thought he was damn near 18 by the way he handles him self. Boy was i off.

Rifleman 400fps with .25g (Semi-Only indoors)
Grenadier 400fps with .25g (Only 1 per squad) (Semi-Only Indoors)
Support 425fps with .25g (Only 1 per squad) 50ft Engagement Distance (Can not be used inside; secondary weapon needed)
Sniper 550fps with .25g (Only 2 sniper/spotter teams per side) 100ft Engagment Distance (Can not be used inside; secondary weapon needed)
These are the basic FPS rules. There will be some other engagement rules posted up once they are ironed out.

Please keep in mind that not everyone who requests the position can be in a sniper position. The spots will be decided and filled on a case by case basis due to safety protocol for wielding such a highly powered weapon.

REMEMBER

Pre-registration is your friend. Not only does it guarantee you a T shirt/patch combo, along with other undisclosed goodies, but the funding goes RIGHT back into the game to make it BETTER. More money means more props, goodies, etc.
This isn't going to be your run of the mill weekend game! This game will only be as good as YOU make it.

Not sure if I understand the hit rules correctly.

You use your 'dead rag', wave it briefly, and place it on yourself to be known as wounded?

Then do you lay where you get hit? Can you move? Can you fire your weapon when wounded? If you are hit again when you are wounded are you dead?

I also see that you are to make sure that your 'dead rag' is visible to other players to let them know you are hit/dead.

So does that mean you cannot shoot wounded players? How does one know that he is wounded or dead if he has to present his 'dead rag' in both situations?

Just trying to understand this better than what I am currently.
Thanks.

Yes. You keep it on your head so people no you are dead.

Then do you lay where you get hit? Can you move? Can you fire your weapon when wounded? If you are hit again when you are wounded are you dead?

You lay, sit, w/e where your at if there is no respawn. You cannot move unless you are in a high fire zone usually or if you do a "carry" You can have 1 person carry you to a safe zone at a walk, with 2 people helping you, you can kinda jog. You can NOT fire your weapon at all when wounded. You must be healed first before you are "walking wounded". Once you are healed you take off your dead rag and you are now walking wounded. If hit again you are dead dead.

I also see that you are to make sure that your 'dead rag' is visible to other players to let them know you are hit/dead.

That is correct. If not, someone might think your alive and shoot you. If this happens, just say I'm already dead.

So does that mean you cannot shoot wounded players? How does one know that he is wounded or dead if he has to present his 'dead rag' in both situations?

Your dead rag is only seen when you are either walking back to respawn or if you are wounded and can not do anything.

Just trying to understand this better than what I am currently.
Thanks.

Hopes this helps.

Obviously you wear the dead rag when you are dead.

Basically what I am asking is:

When wounded you wear the dead rag too? Then, with the dead rag on, you sit down or lay down when you are wounded, correct?

Then if the wounded is shot again, whether he is a "walking wounded" or is just sitting down after being shot and waiting for a medic, he is dead?

And if he is already dead and laying on the ground with the dead rag on and shot again, mistaken for a wounded player, the dead player just says "I am already dead."?

Sorry for the questions, again just trying to be clear on this. I think the wounded player wearing the dead rag is throwing me off from understanding the rules completely.

I will update the rules with these questions to clarify it. See bold below for official answers on the ruleset. We are using John Lu's ruleset for the most part for those that wish to attend Lu's games and vice versa without really having to change their ways or gear. Obviously you wear the dead rag when you are dead.

Basically what I am asking is:

When wounded you wear the dead rag too? Then, with the dead rag on, you sit down or lay down when you are wounded, correct?
When Wounded or Dead you use the Dead Rag. When you have the dead rag on and are wounded (Havn't been mediced before), you have a 5 minute bleedout, which means you have to lay/sit there while waiting for a medic. You are not allowed to Move, Shoot, Or do anything but call out for medic or radio that you need a medic. You are not allowed to report positions to fellow players. The only time you are allowed to talk is to the medic when he is healing you. (NOT when he is X amount of feet away, but when he is attending to your wound or dragging you away.) If you are wounded in an area that is in the line of fire, and must move for safety reasons, just move enough to get out of the main fire lane.

When you are hit after being mediced, you are considered dead. Put your dead rag on and wait for 5 minutes before moving to respawn. This 5 minutes gives players a chance to search your body for intel if you would happen to have it. (I need to update the rules on this as well)

Then if the wounded is shot again, whether he is a "walking wounded" or is just sitting down after being shot and waiting for a medic, he is dead?

Yes, if already Mediced once (Have masking tape on you to represent the wounds), then the next time he is shot. He is dead.

And if he is already dead and laying on the ground with the dead rag on and shot again, mistaken for a wounded player, the dead player just says "I am already dead."?

You don't shoot the wounded.... If a wounded is shot while waiting for a medic, it doesn't count as another hit. But in a situation where you are shot again while wounded or dead, take your red rag and wave it to make sure that the players know that you are dead or wounded.

Sorry for the questions, again just trying to be clear on this. I think the wounded player wearing the dead rag is throwing me off from understanding the rules completely.
No problem. Essentially the dead rag is just a way to signify that you are not a target to shoot at. If you see red in the form of a cloth on a player, it means not to shoot at that target, because they have already been hit.

Airsofter From Hell

We haven't integrated any means of fire support this time around, however future games may see that.

The building has the basic amenities of a house. I think there will be some auto chargers to use as well, but bring your chargers just in case.

just a friendly reminder: cottin kills. wool is warmer.

To those who are perhaps unaware not only is it imporant to dress in layers but allways have the base layer being something that wicks away sweat(wool/under armor) Cotton thermals are a no go as cotton will keep the cold sweat up against your skin making you colder rather than warmer. Serously, try to keep cotton off of your base layer if you are dressing in layers.

Im running out to the military surplus store on wednessday to pick up some artic warfare gear. Worst comes to worst ill wear the artic crap underneath a custom made overcoat of woodland cammo. Staying warm will make the whole diffrence of weather or not this game is fun for you.

MIRV
01-20-2009, 10:21 AM
I'm looking at this event as an oppty to try out my cold weather gear.

Layer I - Try to get something with moisture wicking properties like under armor or coolmax.

Layer II - insulation - should be wool or fleece. A note about wool - it will keep you warm even when it gets wet. If you have a wool sweater, that would work. Or, in a pinch, you can find a fleece pullover and sweat pants for cheap.

Layer III - should be weather resistent, like a raincoat. I have a flight jacket to wear over my TRU shirt.

I also recommend insulated boots, socks, and gloves. I like wigwam socks, and look for gloves that say "thinsulate."

I was wondering what ALL black would be conisdered as. I have asked this question to 3 of the staff members so far and all had no idea since no one has asked that.

So pretty much I am wondering if you have discussed that.

So yeah, the question is this.

What team would a all black uniforum be on. Let me know asap. I have a green uniforum but I want to know so I can use my SWAT loadout for the first time.

spyco
01-22-2009, 10:43 AM
I dont know the answer to that but like i said earlyer, wear what will make you warm. Worry about your team color later. Personally i am going to wear artic warfare gear and put some form of idinifyable markings of woodland on me.

I think people are serously underestmating the cold. Its going to be verry cold, snowy and windy. Think before you pack and remember cotton kills. (btw bring hand warmers or some form of external heating device)

Also, wearing all black at an event where most of the terrain is either a) light woods or b) dirt, you're going to stick out like a sore thumb. my advice to you would be to suck it up and buy a set of woodland camo.
