the halo series has flopped imo. halo3 was terrible(altho single player was better than halo2) and the rts game was bland and not any fun. Ive pretty much lost faith in halo, and dont know what to expect from this next installation.

cod6MW2, however, looks to be an outstanding game. CoD4MW was absolutely incredible, and I often play it still because few games can match its multiplayer. Lets face it, Infinite Ward did an outstanding job with nearly all aspects of the game. The single player, while somewhat restricting and linear, was an incredible playing experience, and had a surprising emotional presence and well told plot.

one thing you have to keep in mind is that CoD5WaW wasnt made by Infinity Ward, it was made by Treyarch. To me, the most important part of the Call of Duty series is multiplayer. The biggest failing of CoD5WaW was the multiplayer. There is no single specific thing about the game that i can name that ruined it...obviously WWII is a recipe for success, so it wasnt just the weapons, but the entire feel of the game was wrong. I, for one, was unable to enjoy the multiplayer for more than 10 minutes, and many others i have talked to agree. CoD5WaW redeemed itself with a relatively good single player(with online coop!) and, most importantly, Nazi Zombies, the only game type i play any more on CoD5WaW. Treyarch fell short with this one, and I for one am very glad to know that CoD6MW2 will be an Infinity Ward production, and cant wait for 11/10/09

As much as I look forward to Halo ODST, I would have to go with Modern Warfare 2, simply because it looks like it's going to be the better game.

Modern Warfare 2. The Call of Duty series (COD 4 specifically) has never been a let down. Although COD 5 had its downs. It is still a fun game to play.

And as far as halo. I was never truly impressed

For any Call of Duty Fans, infinity ward is copying halo as far as editions with a $59.99, $79.99, and $149.99 editions($149.99 edition includes night vision goggles).

NVGs are much cooler than a giant plastic head (that you can't wear:mad:) besides Call of Duty is much cooler than halo 3.

BTW dont forget gears's giant bloody chainsaw gun.

I personally think Modern Warfare 2. If you like fictional gaming, get Halo ODST. If you like realistic gaming, get MW2. MW2 will be the game of the year definitly, and the online play will be way better than any Halo game ever created. Again it's all about what you like.

I personally think both games are going to be great.

In Halo's defense, ODST is supposed to be a TOTALLY different gaming style than that of the other Halos. It will be a squad based game (the guy who designed the squad interaction for GRAW and GRAW2 is doing ODST) and I've been told the whole game might not be 1st person shooter (which I'm not sure how to interpret).

On the other hand, MW2 goes back to Infinity Ward. As OG said, IW made COD4's multiplayer quite flawless and I'm sure that this game will be nothing but better.

I am looking forward to both games.

ODST will be good for the replay value of the firefight mode. And the campaign difficulty was a very large disappointment. Finished it solo on Legendary difficulty in one day.

As for MW2, I do love the sweet 60FPS and the graphics, I honestly see little to no difference between MW1 and MW2 in that sense. I really can't decide how good MW2 will be until I play it. My guess though is that I'll eventually get fed up with campers and other lame-ass tactic users in the MW2 game, I'll go back to Halo 3/ODST.

I have it for PC, its fun but absolutely BRUTAL! I spent over two hours working on passing a single checkpoint, took a break, came back the next day and finally beat it. I had a great time doing it, but don't expect it to be anything like Call of Duty or any other shooters.

@the special editions, that's microsofts marketing plans not the game developers.

H3 odst was a tactical game that was quite hard unless you were playing 4 person co op. It was fun with fire fight mode and also the twist of the campaign from the original 3 Halos. However it was not able to keep up with the campaign of h3 and lack of matchmaking sucks. Fun but not worth the full 60 bucks. Maybe 40. I would go with CODMW2 as it is the same people ad COD4. COD5 was trearch or something. These developers have impressed me since COD1. I'd go with COD.

There are no lobbies, the game is always going and people join and leave at any time.


For those that don't understand dedicated servers.
The game is hosted by providers with computers and internet speeds ridiculously fast. The game will show up in the server browser in game and can be joined at any time by anyone in the world.
Most people pick one close to them to reduce latency between them and the server for better game play.
When the map ends the next map in the rotation loads.

Most of the servers are run by clans who have 24/7 access to the settings and can set the number of players they want to be able to have at one time, maps and game types for those maps in the rotation, and other things. They can enforce rules if they choose (eg. no m203, laststand, martrdom.) and if people don't follow the rules, hack, or spam racial slurs they get kicked or banned and will never be seen on that server again.


I'm sure people doing this stuff on PSN or XBLive get kicked from the game too.

I just prefer matchmaking, you get paired up with people your level and you don't have to search through servers for lagless/good mapped/good mods. It's just easier IMO.

Also hackers get kicked from live almost emediately
