(I will update this to be longer and to have my own pictures).

Ever since I started playing airsoft, I wanted a Garand. And since I’m trying to get most of the small arms used by US forces in WW2, it was a MUST have. My grandfather was a Marine rifleman on Iwo Jima, so that contributed to my purchase. And I sure am glad I got it!

The box is really bland. Nothing special about it. It’s just a blue box with “Gas-Type Marushin M1 Garand 8mmBB blowback” and a nice Spartan Imports sticker on it. It is packed in plain white styrofoam. In the box you get a couple hex keys to help adjust the sights, a Manual with fairly good English, 20 8mm BB’s, and the gun. However the box really does not matter, it’s the gun that counts.

My first impression of the gun was very pleasant. It took me a LONG time to save up the money for this beauty, and I did it. The M1 is ALL metal and wood. The wood is a beautiful dark brown, and the metal is a nice black with a grey bolt. The metal, however, is not up to the standard I was expecting. It seems like it is a cheaper type of metal, maybe pot metal. Anyways, it will last, but they could have done better. The first thing I did when I opened the box up was pull the bolt back, and what a noise!!! It made THE BEST Ch-ting I’ve ever heard! It sounds like my real Garand when you pull it back! After I pulled the bold back, I pulled the trigger. This trigger is just great. It has a nice, crisp 4-6 pound pull, and every time you pull it, it shoots a bb. So I have no complaints so far. On the receiver, right behind the rear sight, you get some really nice trademarks. They say “U.S.RIFLE CAL .30M1 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” and then you get a serial number right under that, I’m not sure if its individual, but it is a nice touch.

When first shooting the gun, I was fairly impressed. This thing shoots an 8mm bb at 400fps (a bit too hot for many fields) and its gas consumption is great. I can usually get 3-4 clips with one fill, and it does have a pretty small gas tank. But it gets better. When I loaded her up with some of my green gas, put a CLIP of 8 8mm BB’s in the chamber, and shot it, it was just amazing. This gun has a bit more kick that a .22(I know a .22 doesn’t really have a “Kick” it’s more of a nudge, still impressive for an airsoft gun though). It is pretty accurate too. It hit a man-sized box from about 25yards away. I have to fine tune the hop up still, and it was VERY windy yesterday, so it wasn’t really a fair test. The groupings were pretty good to. I didn’t take the time to measure them, but I’d say they were within 6-8 inches of each other. When I shot all 8 rounds at the target, the bolt locked back, and the clip ejected. It DOSE NOT MAKE THE PING NOISE! One of the only letdowns of the gun.

Overall this gun is great. I plan to use it at most of the non-winter games I go to. You people can have your super high cap 5000 round mags, and I’ll stick with the old 8 rounder. After all, if you have ever been to a game where only low caps are aloud, then you know what I mean by how much more intense it is. I would highly recommend this gun to ANY WW2 fan. I will update this thread with my own pictures and any other information you would like to know. I know I’m not great at righting a review, but I love this gun so much I just had to.

So how’d I do?
:)
