Ok, firstly let me thank everyone who made it out to the game. It was a terrific day for airsoft and there were a lot of new faces I saw, and old faces I hadn't seen in a while.
It was about 40 degrees outside, sunny all day. Snow was still on the ground here, so it made for a very diverse camo arrangement.
We split up teams and hit the field around 11 or so. First game was a deathmatch with 3 respawns. I took my squad up the creek and engaged about 4 guys who were bunkered down there. My squad managed to take out one or two guys that were down in the weeds before we all got hit and had to regroup. I went back to the same place and went to work. I managed to hit 1 in the weeds where they were before, and then started hitting people across the small cornfield that were hitting the second team hard. I took a hit from across the same place I took it before. Last death was in a similar place, but this time I didn't get much done outside of a few random pot shots. Anyway, blue team won... which wasn't us.
Second team was a patrol mission. Our team had to protect a piece of intel(an ammo box) in the barn. Two members were allowed to stay and protect the canister, the other 10 had to go and patrol the cornfields. They weren't permitted to stop unless engaging the enemy.
I stayed in the barn with the box, along with Spassmiester. We both had DMRs or spring sniper rifles, so it was an obvious choice to leave us behind. I basically was just calling out positions to the guys on the ground the whole game. Didn't see too much action outside of one or two easy sniper shots I managed to pull off. I ended my life by hitting shot in the back... Blue team wins again.
We took lunch.
Third mission was the same mission, by reversed. We were attacking. My squad which consisted of Church, Novak and Din moved up along the tree ling closest to the staging area and engaged 4 enemies that were at the corner of the woods that led to the barn. We took pot shots at each other for nearly 45 minutes. Then the taunting started. Eventually we were able to dash to their position... where we all got subsequently eliminated... good times.
The majority of the people took off after this scenario. It left us with about 10 people. The rest of the guys went out and are still in the field as I type this. I am sitting back at staging with Novak, while he shoots his gun and I type and AAR... Laptops ftw.
Anyway, good day. Nice to be back on the field that really got me started in the community. I've always loved Mimban and believe me... we will be having more games here.
Thanks to all that came out and all that donated some food. All of the food collected will be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank in the name of the Western Pennsylvania Airsofting Community.
